Summer saunter - Cancelled due to COVID-19

Summer is the season of growth. The days have grown longer as sunlight hours have lengthened to peak on this longest day of the year. The sun hangs high over the crops planted earlier in the year and tended to with great care ever since. This year's young are making their first flights, hops and runs under the watchful eye of their parent.

Join us at Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area to celebrate the solstice with a short hike followed by a meditation on growth.

Saturday June 20, 10:30-11:30 am

Autumn amble

Autumn is the season of gathering. Animals gather in large flocks to begin their migration south to wintering grounds. Our crops are gathered and transformed, be it by preserving, fermenting, drying or otherwise - to last the colder months ahead. Many of us gather together to feast and share the harvest.

Join us at Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area to celebrate the equinox with a short hike followed by a meditation on gathering.

Winter is the season of rest. Much energy is spent throughout the year to accomplish tasks and meet goals. With the busy holiday season looming in the near future, this hike is for you to take the time to enjoy the stillness of nature. This hike is for you to reflect on and celebrate your accomplishments throughout the year as you prepare for the one ahead.

Spring stroll - Cancelled due to COVID-19

Spring is a season of beginnings. Birds are returning in great numbers to fill the forest with new songs. Creatures of all sorts emerge to bask in the sun. Trees are full of buds and the fresh green of new growth. Wildflowers are only just beginning to grow from the recently unfrozen ground. Or maybe there is a half metre of snow still covering the ground. Who knows? The fickle unpredictability is part of the excitement of this season, as we gradually trend towards increasing warmth.

Join us at Macaulay Mountain Conservation Area to celebrate the equinox with a short hike followed by a meditation on beginnings.
