June wildflowers: Canada anemone (Anemone canadensis)
This spring ephemeral grows in rich deciduous forests along other early blooms like trout lily, trillium and spring beauty. Sometimes the blooms have a pink tinge (observed near Prince Edward Point Bird Observatory). It is related to and closely resembles native squirrel corn (Dicentra canadensis). And it may look familiar you as it is also related to garden favourite bleeding heart.
And this wildflower's name is perfect because it absolutely looks like pants hanging from a clothesline.
